Discover how lockdown changed our diets, and how stroke can influence our perceptions of our bodies.

This event will include a viewing of some of our Creative Reactions artworks - art inspired by our Pint of Science speakers' research.

The lockdown diet

Dr Rachel Woods (Lecturer in Physiology)
Some say that lockdown was just what they needed to kickstart a new, healthy lifestyle. Others found the isolation and boredom increased their snacking. This talk will take a closer look at how lockdown affected the nation’s eating habits, and what we can learn from it.

Being active after stroke: Processes and perceptions of the body

Georgia Clay (PhD Student & Associate Lecturer)
How does having a stroke impact the body? Can you exercise after stroke? What might this do to your body? The answers may be more intriguing than you think. Together, we will consider the impact that even small amounts of physical activity can have on the brain and body after stroke, and the barriers that people may face in getting back to being active.
